Boy am I glad I looked up the band years later. Another song about not giving up on life and this one is by far the best one in RA's discography. It's a real pity that the extended intro is not on every version of the song, I feel that it is incomplete without it. This is without a doubt the strongest closer on any RA album. Survive - I don't know if you have read the r/RiseAgainst census post but this song is the most popular song and it REALLY shows. Not the say the rest of song isn't, it just finishes on a really, really strong note. That final chorus is nothing short of amazing. One of the least popular singles which I find disappointing since this is one the best songs on the album. The Good Left Undone - A fan favourite for a reason. Not a great song to introduce new people though since it is such a great departure from what RA usually does. If I were ever to learn guitar, the chords here would be among the first I would learn. It's a great song about losing a loved one with some beautiful lyrics from both Tim and the guest female singer. This is the best one of those RA has produced. Roadside - In practically every album is a quieter almost acoustic song. That being said, it is still better than multiple tracks on this album. The best and worst thing about it is that if you have heard RA before, you have effectively heard this song. I find it difficult to describe this song. (RANK: 9/13)īehind Closed Doors - This song is exactly what you expect from RA. It's better than Prayer of the Refugee though so it's got that going for it. It's the rest of the song that holds it back. Worth Dying For - I feel like this song was designed to achieve a similar effect to 'Drones' but doesn't quite achieve it. The story is tragic, heart-felt and Tim's delivery is so passionate but the style of the song really holds it back. However, I do feel that traditional verses would be superior. The Approaching Curve - I generally don't enjoy songs that involve straight talking for extended periods of time. Easily one the best songs RA has ever made. How is this not a single? In terms of quality, it's up there with Re-Education. Especially the ones that play during the during the verses. The lyrics are great but the riffs are what make the song. I only get more excited and ready to punch the wall as the song progresses. (RANK: 10/13)ĭrones - Oh boy, this song is phenomenal. Perhaps it's greatest feature is that it ends on a note that perfectly transitions into the next track. It has a great message which is probably why it got so big. It's not even close to the strongest track in the album and yet it's the most known one. Prayer Of The Refugee - This one RA's most popular songs and yet I have trouble seeing why. Yet again, the third verse is a highlight. Another song I would use to introduce new fans. One of the best guitar riffs in all RA songs.

Once the chorus comes though, I feel a bit underwhelmed. Under The Knife - Upward trend with another great intro and strong verses.

The third verse is definitely the highlight, partially because the rest of the song is little samey. Starts pretty weak but only gets better as it progresses to the point that you're actually a little sad that it's over already. It's easy to appreciate and relate to since everyone has days where they feel crappy. This is one of the songs, I would use to entice a non-fan to get into RA. The verses and bridge are good but that chorus is what makes the song. Ready To Fall - Now we're talking, I can't help but sing every time the chorus comes along. Perhaps in the future, I'll enjoy it more. Songs can be better if you can relate to it's theme but I, myself, have not had much experience with crippling dependency (both in the case of drugs and love). Not bad by any means (Few RA songs are), it's just not exciting despite the obvious passion in the lyrics. This track gives you a good idea of what the rest album will contain. Bridge leads nicely into a great chorus that gets me really amped. This can easily be excused since this track is asking "Are we out of time?" and fast lyrics helps emphasise that. The drums, "This is noise.", the guitar riff, it's all excellent and is one of the few parts of a RA song that makes me nod my head with the beat. TS&TW is commonly referred to as RA's 'Magnum Opus' so I though I would do this one first, If I get positive feedback, I will do more in the future.Ĭhamber The Cartridge - The intro to this is fantastic. I only 'really' became a RA super-fan a year ago so I thought my perspective would be interesting when compared to people who have been listening to RA for more than a decade.
